Major coup for AE911Truth – American Institute of Architects green lights Building 7 vote

By Craig McKeeAIA Atlanta

Sometimes it really pays to be persistent.

That’s what Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth found out this week when the organization achieved something truly remarkable. It succeeded in getting a commitment from the largest association of architects in the U.S. to debate and vote on a resolution supporting an investigation into the destruction of World Trade Center Building 7 on Sept. 11, 2001.

The vote will take place at the annual convention of the American Institute of Architects, May 14-16, in Atlanta, GA. (If you’re not sure how much of a big deal this convention is, the keynote (more…)

De Blasio lashes out: 9/11 truth getting noticed thanks to Building 7 ballot initiative

De Blasio calls ballot initiative "insensitive" and "inappropriate."

De Blasio calls ballot initiative “insensitive” and “inappropriate.”

By Craig McKee

New York Mayor Bill De Blasio has made it official: the effort to force the City of New York to investigate the destruction of Building 7 is having a significant effect on the profile of the 9/11 Truth Movement.

The mayor recently lashed out at the efforts to get a question on the ballot in the November municipal election that would, if it passes, impose a change to the city’s charter. The change would force the city’s Department of Buildings to investigate all high-rise collapses retroactive to Sept. 11, 2001. Exempted would be the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center.

In an article in Crain’s New York Business, de Blasio said: “From what I’ve heard, it’s absolutely ridiculous. And it’s inappropriate, (more…)

New consensus points show NIST ignored critical WTC 7 evidence: AE911Truth may launch suit

Building 7 small fire

“NIST simulations omitted basic structural supports that would have made this girder failure impossible.”

By Craig McKee

They admit they ignored evidence, and they don’t care.

According to one of three new points released this week by the 9/11 Consensus Panel, the National Institute of Standards and Technology has dismissed the importance of architectural drawings for World Trade Center Building 7, accessed through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), which prove that the claim that the building was brought down by office fires cannot be correct.

If NIST doesn’t correct its faulty technical analysis, it could find itself being sued by Architects and Engineers for 9/11 (more…)

NYC CAN chooses new angle to force city to investigate Building 7 ‘collapse’

High Rise Safety Initiative cropped

Many in the 9/11 Truth movement feel that demanding a new investigation into the crimes of 9/11 is doomed to fail.

We’ve seen numerous legal efforts to break through on 9/11 run head on into a combined brick wall of officialdom and the mainstream media. We saw Ellen Mariani’s legal case end in disappointment with the judicial deck stacked against her, not to mention any other victims’ family members who wanted their day in (more…)

Rethink 9/11 ads being ‘reviewed’ in Ottawa are protected: Supreme Court

The centerpiece of the Rethink 9/11 campaign is this billboard in Times Square.

Rethink 9/11 ads on Ottawa buses are staying right where they are.

A 2009 Supreme Court of Canada ruling affirms that the content of transit system ads are protected as free expression under section 2(b) of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. (The case involved multiple parties, including the Greater Vancouver Transit Authority, British Columbia Transit, the Canadian Federation of Students, and the B.C. Civil Liberties Association.)

The Rethink 9/11 campaign, sponsored by Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, bypasses the mainstream media and exposes people to the case for 9/11 Truth (more…)

The 9 biggest 9/11 stories of 2011: old fights and new directions

By Craig McKee

Paul Simon stepped to the microphone at Ground Zero and something amazing happened.

The legendary singer/songwriter had been asked to sing the non-threatening Bridge Over Troubled Waters at the ceremony for 9/11’s 10th anniversary ceremonies in New York, but he didn’t. Instead, he launched into a haunting version of another classic that begins, “Hello darkness, my old friend.” Simon had decided that the most appropriate statement for this occasion would come from (more…)

Will Toronto 9/11 Hearings ignore Pentagon to avoid ‘controversy’?

By Craig McKee

While most eyes will be on New York City on the 10th anniversary of 9/11 in September, the real news could be made north of the border.

To coincide with the anniversary, the International Centre for 9/11 Studies is organizing The International Hearings on the Events of September 11, 2001 in Toronto, Canada. These hearings, to be held at Ryerson University Sept. 8-11, will address the evidence from 9/11 and will produce a final report that could become a very valuable document in getting the truth out to the world.

Some of the most prominent names in the 9/11 Truth movement will be participating. Notable are author David Ray Griffin (who has written more books on the subject that anyone), Richard Gage of Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, and physicist Steven Jones. Other familiar Truth movement names include Peter Dale Scott, David Chandler, Jonathan Cole, Kevin Ryan, and Niels Harrit. Check out their bios on the Hearings site here.

But there could be a problem. And that problem could arise because not everyone agrees on what constitutes the weakest link in the official government story of 9/11 – and what constitutes strong evidence. (more…)

Giuliani knew twin towers would collapse, firefighters not warned

By Craig McKee

Truth and perception can be polar opposites.

Rudy Giuliani, the mayor of New York City in 2001, was hailed by many as a 9/11 hero who guided the city and the nation through its most horrifying day. But, instead of being hailed as a hero for his actions on and after 9/11, he could have been seen as untruthful and suspiciously evasive. He was certainly unconcerned about the dangers to residents and employees who spent time at Ground Zero in the weeks that followed.

Giuliani said in 2001 that he had been told the twin towers would collapse on the morning of 9/11. If that’s true, why didn’t he warn the firefighters who were climbing the two towers to get people out? And why did he change his story six years later?

According to an interview he did with Peter Jennings of ABC News at 1 p.m. on Sept. 11, 2001, Giuliani said he had been told by officials in his own Office of Emergency Management that the (more…)

Media ‘watchdogs’ attack tiny 9/11 opening from Rivera, Napolitano

By Craig McKee

It’s the damndest thing.  Two media watchdogs from opposite sides of the fence are attacking Fox News, my most hated news organization, and I’m on Fox’s side.

To a point.

The liberal “media watchdog” Media Matters for America has attacked Fox News host Geraldo Rivera and Judge Andrew Napolitano for considering the possibility that we haven’t been told the whole story about how World Trade Center Building 7 collapsed on Sept. 11, 2001 (http://mediamatters.org/blog/201011290030). A similar attack has come from Newsbusters, a conservative “media watchdog.”

The idea that the government has lied to the world about 9/11 has always been ridiculed at Fox – and Rivera was one of those doing the ridiculing. But the campaign called Building What? (which ran TV ads in November questioning the official explanation about Building 7) has made an impression. Besides being seen by millions of New Yorkers, the campaign has persuaded Rivera to rethink his long-held belief that Truthers were a (more…)

‘Building What?’ campaign is brilliant strategy for 9/11 Truth movement

By Craig McKee

It’s an inspired move. Take a single event from 9/11 and ask for a local investigation to determine how it happened. In this case, the goal is to have officials in New York City launch an investigation into why World Trade Center Building 7 collapsed on Sept. 11, 2001.

The smaller scope makes it more likely to succeed, and the fact that New Yorkers are asking their city to investigate leaves the federal government out of it – for now, anyway. And it’s clear that other so-called investigations into this event have shed no light on how this 47-storey building came straight down at near free fall speed (6.5 seconds) when it wasn’t even hit by a plane.

The campaign, called Building What?, was organized by families of people who died in the Sept. 11 attacks. It is co-sponsored by NYC Coalition for Accountability Now and Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, an organization that includes more than 1,200 members. AE911Truth is devoted to the dissemination of scientific evidence about what happened on 9/11. Their stated goal is a truly (more…)
